Buffalo

The softest of Lucchese’s smooth leathers, buffalo is luxurious in both fit and finish. As velvety as glove leather, it’s also surprisingly durable and appropriate for all occasions. When new, buffalo boots should hug the feet tightly. In time and with repeated wear, they will mold to your feet for a one-of-a-kind fit and show a rich vintage patina.

The Roper

The Lucchese roper is a Western boot with British inspiration and Texas roots. The roper can be traced back to England’s military and Arthur Wellesley, who was the first Duke of Wellington and former prime minister. That’s why it’s sometimes called a Wellington. We craft boots from several cuts of this crocodilian: belly, ultra belly, and hornback. Ultra belly is ultra smooth; belly is only slightly less so. Abrasion-resistant hornback is heavily textured, with deep, tall ridges. The most recent caiman in the Lucchese family, giant caiman has larger tiles than the other varieties. All these crocodilians hold firm around the foot, even after repeated wear.
